We're passing on Black Friday | Supporting The Prince's Trust
I don’t believe in fast fashion. When it comes to creating our collections, we take our time to perfect each and every design. So, when it comes to you shopping them, we don’t want you to rush either. For that reason, ME+EM won’t be participating in Black Friday - intelligent style is here to stay all year round.
Instead, I wanted to use Black Friday to shine a light on a wonderful organisation, The Prince’s Trust. I am proud to be have recently been made an ambassador for their Women Supporting Women initiative which aims to nurture, empower and inspire young women to build their own futures through employment, self-employment, education or training. To help support their invaluable work, ME+EM will be donating £10 from every order made from now until Cyber Monday (30 November) to the Women Supporting Women initiative. I’m also delighted to say that one of our brand ambassadors will match our donation, so that in total £20 from each order will be donated.

For many young people in the UK, the future was already uncertain but sadly they have been disproportionately impacted by Covid-19. Now, having missed out on vital education, training and job opportunities, millions are at risk of being left behind. Young people are now almost 5x more likely to be unemployed than any other age group.
For those who were already vulnerable - facing mental health issues, challenges at home, or even homelessness - they see no way out. We are supporting The Prince’s Trust to help young people build confidence and skills at this critical time.

Offering a mixture of advice, guidance, inspirational talks and support for budding entrepreneurs, The Prince’s Trust Enterprise course helps young people to explore and set up their own business. To date, The Prince’s Trust has helped more than 90,000 young people start businesses. That includes people like 30-year-old print designer Danielle Neill, who lives in Bristol. She started her sustainable print brand ‘Danielle Neill Designs’ with help from The Prince’s Trust after joining the Enterprise course in 2017 and now sells sustainable products made from natural silk or organic cotton.
“Starting a new venture can seem really overwhelming and daunting so the programme really helped. It has been amazing knowing I have a group of people I can contact at any time for help, support, and guidance with my business. They go out of their way to help you in any way they can, and if a question relates to something they aren’t knowledgeable about, they reach out to experts in the field find the answer.
I’d really love to keep expanding the brand in the future with new products. Earlier this year, I collaborated with The Bristol Upholstery Collective to up-cycle a sofa using my fabric for the BBC show, Money For Nothing. I would love to explore the interior design world more and apply my designs to other furniture or even wallpaper.”
