My wardrobe diary

The biggest style lesson we’ve all learnt through lockdown is how to master pairing the smart with the casual: it speaks to our need to feel comfortable at home but still pulled together in order to stay focused and motivated.
In this month’s wardrobe diary, I put that lesson into full effect, as I style my favourite March pieces with a few new arrivals that will be launching next week, a little sneak peek into what’s to come for April.

There is just enough detail at the collar and cuffs of this blouse to elevate a pared-back look, particularly when styled with these jeans.
The Fitted Bouclé Knit Jacket looks like tailoring but is actually a knit, so provides that perfect balance of looking structured and feeling effortless.

Relaxed Straight Full-Length Jean
Silk Cotton Crochet Lace Blouse

This jacket ticks off a key trend for this season: neutral summer checks.
It is designed to give the appearance of a double-breasted cut but actually isn't, giving it a relaxed silhouette that feels more appropriate for now. Style it with a youthful tee and trouser for nonchalant cool.

Italian Check Open Front Blazer
Queen of Hearts Embroidered Tee, coming soon
Cotton Barrel-Leg Crop Trouser, coming soon

I’ve added a little bit of structure to this laid-back, sports-luxe outfit with a tailored blazer which complements the neutral tones of the side stripe and knit.
This track pant has an elasticated waist and wide-leg cut so is an all-day hero but knowing I have the blazer on-hand ensures I’m always prepped for a video conference call.

Accent Stripe Track Pant
Lofty Cashmere Curved Hem Jumper, coming soon
Houndstooth Boyfriend Blazer

The proportions of this cardigan work perfectly with these jeans: the slightly cropped length has been designed to just meet the waist of a trouser so that you don’t have an excess of fabric around the middle.I also really love the mix of the masculine cut of the jean with feminine shape of the cardigan.

Cotton Silk Mouliné Fisherman's Cardigan
Adjustable Waist Slim Barrel Leg Jean

This jumpsuit is an off-duty summer piece and will look great with a tan later, but for now layer it up with a long-sleeved tee and knitwear for warmth.
There’s a fastening at the neckline that stops the wrap design from gaping so that you can comfortably wear it without any layers when it’s warm enough.
Clare is wearing:
Crossover Jumpsuit
Washed + Distressed Organic Cotton Tee

This trouser goes with everything. The reason is that the colours in the check pull together this season’s palette, so whether you style it with a sky blue or a darker neutral, it looks completely effortless.
In last month’s wardrobe diary, I dressed the trouser up with a heel but here I’ve dressed it down with a more likely shoe for now: a trainer. The denim jacket is coming soon – a little preview – and is classic with a twist, designed to be cropped to sit just right with trousers waistbands.

Mini Check Wide-Leg Trouser
Queen of Hearts Embroidered Tee, coming soon
Washed Denim Jacket, coming soon

Although this is more of an evening jumpsuit, clashing it with the texture and masculine cut of this boyfriend blazer gives it a more casual feel for now.
Once temperatures warm up and we’re allowed to socialise a bit more, I can see this styled with smart sandals.

Fluid Crepe Halterneck Jumpsuit, coming soon
Houndstooth Boyfriend Blazer
