Athflow is the new athleisure | As seen in The Times

According to Fashion Director of The Times, Anna Murphy, “athflow is what 2021 will be all about''.
Think flowy trousers, loose jumpsuits and oversized shapes. It’s “athleisure’s chic-er cousin; more flattering, more grown up and – this is key – more appropriate in the new workplace”, Murphy explains. Yes, the kitchen table is now included in this definition. Most importantly she states, “athflow is any clothing whose origins lie in comfort and/ or performance”.

Narrowing the divide between loungewear and workwear just so happens to be ME+EM’s forte.“I rate: ME+EM’s flat-fronted jersey joggers in black, navy or khaki”, says Murphy in her article ‘Goodbye athleisure – it’s all about the athflow’. Indeed, these more than comfortably slip into the realm of this newly coined term. Supersoft jersey fabric and gathered pleat detailing make for a loose, voluminous leg shape, whilst a roll top waistband is ideal for expectant mothers and midday biscuit bingers alike.
“No one is going to see your trousers on Zoom but you are going to feel like you mean business wearing them”, Murphy states.
If you want to feel a little more video-call-ready however – on the upper half at least, elevate a relaxed ‘go with the flow’ jogger with our Houndstooth Boyfriend Blazer.

The wide-leg track pants have a relaxed shape and comfortable elasticated waistband, making them the ideal working-from-home staple.
Our Luxe Lounge Jogger also comes under Murphy’s ‘comfortable yet means business’ neologism, with its effortless pull-on style and stretchable waistband with sporty drawcords.
