Hero Banner

It’s an ironic truth that the pieces universally considered to be “wardrobe heroes” are the hardest to scour in your perfect size.

Just look to the hours you’ve accumulated in changing rooms surrounded by piles of denim, on a quest to find the now almost mythological-level perfect-fit jeans for proof. Coming in at a close second to jeans - and equally as ubiquitous with your daily ensembles - are trousers.

Wide, tapered, flared, and cropped, this staple takes on so many different guises that navigating the world of trousers is tricky enough before we even get into the territory of ‘body types’. Forget apples and pears, inverted triangles, and rectangles; obviously, someone once thought that splitting everyone up into specific shapes and sizes would simplify our lives, but who actually ticks every box under one of those aforementioned categories? We know that it’s impossible to put each and every one of us into a specific square (pun intended) and that you and only you know your body the best. So, we’re cutting through the noise and shifting the focus away from finding the types of trousers for your ‘body type’ to those that celebrate your body.

Given that we fit our trousers up to four times during the design process, it’s fair to say we’re an authority on the style. Discovered in our Trouser Lab, these are the specific cuts and designs that address five key needs.

Perfect For PetitesGone are the days of having to make the decision between visiting a tailor to take up every pair of trousers you buy or leaving the cuffs to graze the ground if your stature falls under 5’4”. The trick to selecting styles that are perfectly proportioned for petites is to turn to cuts that don’t overwhelm smaller frames and fall to exactly the right length to complement your height.

Women’s trousers with a slim leg and cropped silhouette that skims your legs to create definition are universally flattering on smaller statures. Our cropped designs fall to just above ankle-length on taller figures and are the perfect length on petites, avoiding fabric bunching at your ankles or necessitating a heeled shoe to lift the cuffs off the ground. Instantly brightening your look, our Colour Pop Slim Crop Trouser in a bold, confident shade prepares your wardrobe for warmer temperatures and is complemented by the matching blazer for an eye-catching head-to-toe look. In contrast, our Summer Check Slim Crop Trouser takes a subtler approach to colour, championing a neutral check motif outlined by a contrasting side stripe in soft lemon to complement a shorter frame.

For a tailored look, seek out pairs with turn-up cuffs that accommodate different leg lengths and ensure a sleek finish even when the hems have been shortened. Style them above polished leather loafers or your go-to low-top trainers when a day at the office is replaced with weekend errand-running.

Highlight Your WaistEmphasise the smallest part of your body with a high or super-high waistband to achieve a defined, hourglass silhouette.

A wardrobe staple with chameleon credentials, these pairs ensure a sleek sign-off to your ensemble time and time again, styled alongside oversized blazers and crew neck tees. Turn to them throughout the week to see you through back-to-back meetings and then sail through to a packed social schedule in this flattering style when Saturday and Sunday arrive.

For a more tailored-to-you finish, discover our women’s straight-leg trousers detailed with adjustable tabs on the waistband that pull the fit in just a touch to avoid gaping while achieving a sleek look. Woven with cream and hints of soft lemon, our Summer Tweed High-Waist Crop Trouser complements spring and summer’s lighter days, falls to a flattering length at your ankles and is detailed with that aforementioned adjustable tab on the waist for versatility.

Elongate Your LegsInstantly creating the illusion of height, women’s wide-leg trousers complemented by streamlined side stripes unionise for a leg-lengthening effect. As opposed to placing them so that they follow the seams, our side stripes are positioned further forwards so they’re visible even when the trousers are viewed from the front to emphasise the elongating effect.

As opposed to hugging your hips, our versions of this trouser shape are cut to fall off the bottom and thighs to create a streamlined silhouette for the most flattering finish and the illusion of a longer leg. Introducing the same elongating effect to your wardrobe in statement-making fashion, our Super Wide Colour Block Track Pant swaps side stripes for a contrasting panel in soft lemon that breaks up the wash of powder blue cloaking the tailoring fabric to emphasise the wide legs. Not only reserved for the sides, elongating stripes also find a home racing down the entirety of tailored styles such as our Stripe All-Day PJ Pant and Statement Stripe Wide-Leg Trouser to shore up your collection of office and event-ready suiting.

Lean into the effect by adding height with a pair of heels to bring the hems a little further off the ground and fall fluidly over your footwear.

Flatter Your CurvesWhile our natural instinct might be to turn to wide-leg or flared silhouettes when it comes to finding the perfect pair of trousers to flatter curves, women’s tapered trousers or barrel-leg styles fully embrace your body and celebrate every curve without drowning your frame in excess fabric.

Thanks to the cut on both that is wider through the hips and thighs, our tapered and barrel-leg styles accommodate wider hips while the narrower cut at the hems highlights your ankles to create definition. An additional benefit of barrel legs is that they’re often pressed with structural pleats that further flatter curvier figures and ensure the style doesn’t overwhelm shorter frames.

Our Stripe Barrel-Leg Trouser is covered in two iterations of its namesake pattern; one vertical that streaks over the legs and another horizontal that defines the contrasting side panels as a nod to our signature side stripes, resulting in a more streamlined silhouette. With styling versatility through the seasons in mind, the pattern is rendered in black set on a creamy hued canvas to complement dark neutrals and bright patterns alike.

Pregnant Tums and New MumsWhether you’re looking for pairs that embrace a bump or an easy throw-on-and-go style when you’re running on less than eight hours’ sleep at the mercy of a newborn’s night schedule, look to a palazzo pant. They satisfy the need for a trouser with a sleek silhouette, polished finish and loungewear-level comfort.

Universally flattering and endlessly adjustable to accommodate a growing bump, our palazzo pants are suspended from a comfortable roll top waistband that provides coverage and can be styled higher or lower at your hips to suit changing personal preferences. Added to that, there are two different lengths for you to choose between to accommodate all frames and figures. Round off your look with a cashmere hoody and crew neck T-shirt, or turn instead to tailored shirts.
