A guide to looking after yourself

In this next installment of my journal, I wanted to bring you some light relief with tips and guides to treating yourself whilst at home. Once again, I’ve gathered women I admire and work with to share their expertise on everything from Zoom-ready beauty tutorials to interior design tips.
As soon as we went into lockdown, there were endless recommendations flying around of what to watch now that we’re all committed to staying at home. I find it to be quite overwhelming; I never know where to begin, and like so many of you, I’m still so busy working from home that isolation doesn’t necessarily mean I’m able to scroll through watchlists. That’s what inspired our TV round-up, which we’ve segmented into time slots. It’s a great edit that you can pick from according to how much time you have available.

We had a very exciting new launch at ME+EM this week: I’m delighted to finally introduce our new capsule collection of bags. It has been quite a mission to get these due to the pandemic, so it feels especially major. We put so much thought into the design of these two styles, named after my daughters, Maddy and Grace, in order to complete the outfit building process for you. I’ve written about the inspiration behind them and given a sneak peek into what I carry in mine.
Speaking of outfit building, I’ve put together some new looks in My Wardrobe Diary with the summery new arrivals that have just landed as part of our May Collection. The team have done the same with their own working-from-home looks. If you’re signed up to receive our monthly lookbooks, your May book will be landing on your doorstep from Monday.

Today is VE Day and the many celebrations across the country that were planned have sadly (but understandably) been cancelled. Nevertheless, it feels particularly poignant now to reflect on the sacrifices and achievements of those who lived through the war. A national singalong of Dame Vera Lynn’s wartime song ‘We’ll Meet Again’ is due to take place this evening and I can’t help but think how incredibly symbiotic those words are for our current situation. It also seems like a good opportunity to think about what we have to be grateful for, even in times like these.
I hope you enjoy a well-deserved, restful long weekend,
Clare
